As a BOI, native to Galveston, I've had the privilege of experiencing the unique joys this island offers.
Motivated by my deep passion for Galveston, I feel a duty to further serve my community by running for City Council. I hope to garner the support of District 5 residents and the entire island as we collectively strive for a better community. Together, we can create a Better Galveston for Galveston.
Galveston's vital resource, its residents, must be prioritized in all decisions. The city must endorse workforce housing to support current industry workers and those aspiring to build a life on the island.
The distinctive natural terrain of Galveston makes it particularly susceptible to Relative Sea Level Rise, surpassing other areas along the Texas Coast.
The integration of our 2022 drainage master plan and the 2024 comprehensive plan, coupled with forward-thinking infrastructure practices, is essential in addressing the escalating flooding challenges on our island.
Given the island's restricted undeveloped lands, it's imperative to move beyond the short-sighted notion that new development is the sole viable source of tax revenue.
